Is the whole joke about somebody making bad coffee something that only happens in fiction or is it a real thing people complain about? If it is a real thing, please explain.

I'm talking about the trope of a character making bad coffee, usually in office or police station settings, stuff like that. But in 99% of these cases they're using your regular old coffee machine, adding water and pre-ground beans and hitting the start button. How is it possible to make bad coffee in this scenario? Aren't your only options for coffee not being to your liking too strong or too weak? Is that what's meant by "bad" coffee?

Please note that I am not asking how to make good coffee, but about what constitutes as good and bad coffee in this specific setting.

So I've been drinking folgers from Mr. Coffee.

Redpill me on something better. I can afford it now. I want to have a quality cup at my home.

Ive been trying out not drinking coffee every day for 5-10 days at a time to see how I feel. Then drinking coffee every day 5-10 days then stopping again etc..

What Ive noticed is this - coffee is addictive as fuck, and impairs your thinking quite a bit. It also stresses you out and generally makes your well being worse overall.

Days 1-3 of not drinking coffee after drinking it daily for months on end. , shit mood, headache, lack of motivation, severe cravings for a cup to "feel better".

Then days 3-10 , much clearer thinking. Thinking feels "normal" and not rushed by ARTIFICIAL STIMULANT. more aware of certain feelings and naunces in every day life that largely go ignored when knee depth in HEAVY STIMULANT ADDICTION.
Sleep alot better. More productive, smarter etc.

Then - Going back to coffee after a few weeks SOBER. First time - incredibly good. mood through the roof, why did i ever quit , this feels so good, now i feel normal finally etc.. The next day wake up, dont need a coffee but want to have a better mood, so have another coffee. incrased mood slightly not as good as day before. Day 3, dont need coffee, but again want to feel better, so why not, again mood increase not as good as day before.

By day 5 theres a switch - thinking has become foggy, absolutely NEED the coffee in the morning to stop feeling shitty. Its not a choice of whether I want it or not, I NEED IT.

Continue drinking every day after this point - thinking gets foggier and foggier, production falls, overall feel stressed out overstimulated and tired but wired at the same time.

Conclusion - Coffee is literal POISON and just as bad for you as any other drug people try to shame addicts for using. Try quitting for 2-3 weeks, then drinking it again daily for a few weeks and you will see what im talking about.

Anyone else ever realize how bad coffee is?

America.
I generally wake up around noon with just enough time for a cup or two before heading out to work.
I've never been a breakfast person, and i've never understood how people can eat so fucking early in the morning.
(not to mention the 'full english breakfast' that keeps getting posted. Thats like some shit you'd eat on fucking thanksgiving)

I generally never get hungry till around 3-4pm.
