In addition to being a cashier. i worked in almost every department.

Here are some things I noticed. I'll probably get banned because I get banned from here all the time, but these are just the straight up facts from working in a grocery store age 16-college (23)

>About 50% of black people use food stamps
>About 66% (2/3) of those people attempt to buy liquor or cigarettes and get pissed when you don't let them despite being repeat customers
>About 66% (2/3) do not spend that money wisely, which means they either do not need it OR they buy a bunch of King Crab Legs for 70$ of their 200$ a month allotment.
>Always buy produce from the back/top. They rotate it and the oldest fruit is always in the front
>Very few of the butchers actually know what the hell they're talking about or doing. Ask for the head butcher or meat department manager. For instance. If they don't know what St. Louis Style ribs are they do not know their craft
>Buttercream is usually kept in a giant garbage can (not filled with garbage obviously) due to the amount of people that order cakes from grocery stores. I would suggest buying a local pie or making your own cakes.
>Milk and Eggs are kept in the back of the store to encourage you to walk the whole store and buy more things on the way if you are just running in for those.
>Some lady hit me with a divider. I also had a woman come in and shout WHERE ARE YOU YOU PERVERT (she claimed to see someone she saw on some pedo documentary). Retail is terrible. I do not miss working in it. People are crazy
>Return your carts. The Cart Wranglers job is made much easier doing this
>Bottle Machines are the red headed step child of grocery store workers. Usually baggers or literal retards do it. No one wants to because they smell and are sticky. The glass ones usually glass cracks and sprays everywhere and you get cuts. So be patient when you hear the machines beeping. Chances are workers are arguing over who has to do it.
