True, but you have to know what you're getting into. If the restaurant knows what it wants to be (middle of the road, serving a lot people), then that's not a problem. If it's trying to be anything else and has too expansive or broad of a menu the overall quality will suck.

Which is why I think the diner is the exception. It's delicious, greasy, garbage food and you know it going in.
