This argument makes no sense. By the same logic, coca-cola has an incentive to be healthy because if everyone dies they won't drink cola anymore. In actuality, fruit only needs to be not-poisonous enough that you don't keel over immediately after eating it, to escape the scrutiny of the lowest common denominator of human cattle, which happens to also be the same standard that soda is held to.
