Friday night after work I stopped at the local party store and bought a coke and a bag of chips. As I paying for it the clerk asked me if maybe I needed some rum for the coke since it was Friday night and he said I looked liked I good use a few "stiff" ones. I thanked him for his advice but as I was driving home I thought about what he said and was it really any of his business what I was going to do or drink or whatnot. If he was tring to be friendly I think he should reexamine what friendship is what it is not and that includes prying into people's personal lives about we do on a Friday night. Maybe I just wanted to go home and watch King of the Hill and eat chips or maybe I just wanted to watch a movie while I drink my coke and eat my chips. It's not his or anybody else's business, especially party store clerks. I have not gone back there and will not go there again. People should mind there own bee's wax and let customers just buy a coke and a bag of chips without offering them unwanted advice about adding rum to their coke. I mean does he know that I drink or not drink. And what makes him assume I would like a rum and coke? Maybe when I have a drink I drink gin and tonic or vodka and soda? I just think things could be different.

Do the clerks at your local party store make drink suggestions to you?
