Just bought a balut egg (the kind with the little duck embyo inside) and am going to boil it.

I don't like hot sauce, so can I just put a bit of salt and pepper on it and eat it like that?

What is the texture of the babby duck like? Rubbery? Chewy?

If I like it, I might try using it as an ingredient in something else. I heard it goes good in a sandwich.

A balut or balot is a developing duck embryo that is boiled alive and eaten in the shell. It is commonly sold as streetfood in the Philippines.
