a hearty stew i like that does not have dairy or tomatoes from lombardy is cassouela
pictures may not look the best, but its various cheap pork cuts (popular is spare ribs, but can be trotters or whatever), sausage, cabbage stew

not sure how related it is to french sausage stew cassoulet
