Correct, it is a major compromise. But it's the best you can do if you're stuck with a shitty electric range.

Wok nerds have a term for that. They call them "WSOs". "wok shaped objects". Applies to all sorts of woklike garbage. Pic related is my favorite, that fucker is about as useful as a perforated condom.

The single worst, bar none, is a tossup between this and a glass cutting board.
