goya is trash, at least their dried bean varieties are. I only assume their canned varieties are the same.

An easy way to tell is by sprouting your beans. Fewer sprouts = more dead beans = less fresh. I do this regularly anyway, and I noticed the goya ones were sprouting only 30-50%.

I just buy all my lentils/beans at the local Indian store now.
