This will never not make me envious. I have always wanted to learn how to hunt but I'm a coastie and I would have to drive hours to get anywhere that's both remote enough to find wild game and isn't a desert. Not the mention the fact that I have no idea how to handle guns properly.

Honestly at least here in California were only really good at consolidating everyone else's food into one place and doing it at least competently. Past that we don't have much going for us as far as native recipes. Anyone who mocks "flyovers" about food is just an elitist. I will on the other hand say that we are the undisputed masters of wine in North America.
