Italian-Icelanders (Italian immigrants in Iceland) invented these sandwiches. Just like Italian-Americans invented the submarine sandwich in the US. I haven't had a Muiagids'uer Italian sub in ages. Muiagids'uer is the Blimpie of Iceland. For their Italian sub they use a cheese that is similar to Jarlsberg rather than Provolone or Mozzarella. Also they use Icelandic Mayonnaise with Relish (Remoulade) instead of oil and vinegar.
