Y'all got a good beef stew recipe? I've been adding wine, chicken stock, onion, shallot, garlic, thyme, bay leaf, pepper, tomato paste, carrot, celery, flour, sometimes mushrooms or paprika. But it ends up tasting mainly of onion, nowhere near as good as stew from a restaurant. Help.

We get a lot of transplants from /fit/ which is hilarious because this board is 50% fatties with no desire to change and 50% who are not fatties only because they can't afford to eat what they want

Oh I understand that, every range is different and a 5 on one may be medium on one range and hedium-high on another. When I say recipe, I mean myself. Like if I sear a oven-cooked of sous vide steak it's 30 seconds on a 5 out of 6 setting, and a typical salmon fillet is 3 minutes per side on a 5 setting for my range. It helps me remember, the recipe can say "low" or "medium high," but once I find something that works I tend to stick with it. No numbering makes that more difficult for no reason.
