What's the cheapest cut of beef to cook sous vide and seared as a steak? I remember sirloin being a cheaper cut, but it's the same price as strip loin at the supermarket, so if I'm going to spend the same amount, I'd rather just get a strip loin.

I don't want to sound like a faggot but what's the big deal with steaks? People treat them as the finest, most luxurious meat out there. Also anything less than medium well done is revolting

Does anyone else here not "get" stake? Why is this considered fancy? It's a slab of meat with seasoning. If anything I'd say its low quality street food like tacos or poutine, its so fucking basic and boring. When someone says "lets go to the steak house" I cringe inside, paying a huge mark-up for "Zzzzzz..." the dish.

Any nutrition from meat can be supplemented by other sources and purchasing and eating meat leads to the enslavement and killing of sentient animals that can feel pain like we can. Walmart steak is probably fine. Millions of people buy it and if there was a problem we would have heard about it. The reason the "Walmart nation" shoppers are bloated and unhealthy is because they eat everything BUT the steaks.
