My grandmother no longer buys chicken from the grocery store if she is making a roast chicken, she will kill one of her own. They resemble the ones in the middle and I have never tasted a better roast chicken.

Basically agribusiness has for the past ~60 years focused on quantity, not quality. My grandfather sold all of his Jersey cows in favor of Holsteins back in the 60s because while Jersey cows produce better milk with a higher milkfat content, Holsteins produce like 50% more a day.

In terms of nutrition I wouldn't be surprised if the older breeds were slightly better for you, but in a future world where meat is becoming more scarce on tables, the quantity of the protein we can get from these new mutant superchickens probably ends up being more beneficial for humanity in the long run

I have 7 dollars to my name, I don't get paid until tomorrow, and I have no food in the house unless you count cornmeal. My car is in the shop so I only have access to a few establishments. Which of these would you do for dinner:

1. Footlong spicy Italian sub from Subway
2. Little Caesar's hot n ready pizza (pepperoni or cheese)
3. Get drunk on Steel Reserve and eat ramen
4. Get tipsy on Steel Reserve and eat 3 beef tacos from the local Mexican joint
