I see a lot of people on here talking down on air fryers, what's so bad about them?

Yo dudes I got this for xmas.

I'm trying to cook a piece of meat with some vegetables and I wanted to know if putting the vegetables on the bottom or top layer changes their flavor. Which one is better?
>veggies on bottom so the meat juices drip down
>veggies on top so the meat flavor drifts up (does that even work?)
