It's gotta be burgundy mushrooms, and maybe caramelized onions. Potatoes are a given, but those can be twice-baked, roasted garlic mashed, or au gratin. And if you're not eating your steak au poivre, you're doing it wrong.

I'm getting treated to a high-end steakhouse for my birthday dinner, /ck/, I've already decided on the porterhouse with some top-shelf bourbon, but should I get au poivre, or with mushrooms & onions, or both?
