1. Surströmming isn't rotten, it's fermented.
2. It isn't eaten as a delicacy by all Nordic people, that's far from the truth. It is very rarely found even in Sweden. A small minority of people eat it once a year as tradition.
MEANWHILE Italians eat "Casu Martzu" (LITERALLY: "ROTTEN CHEESE") with LIVE MAGGOTS in it. That's not an unfortunate byproduct: they wouldn't want to eat this cheese without live maggots in it.

This is of course extremely unhygienic and therefore banned by the EU (notice again that surströmming isn't rotten and therefore there is no need for such a ban) but Italians are still making said cheese illegaly. Stop talking shit and know your fucking place southron.
