imagine if you made your sandwiches out of delicetessan meats like panaceta, proccutio, old world salamis, patte's terrines, aged cheeses, pickled things like olives, that is sushi. like the sandwich you can make lots of shitty sushi too, so nowdays are the sushi equivelent of the sandwich heyday, you know, when oscarmayer produced bacon flavored peanut butter because peanut butter and bacon was THAT popular of a sandwich combination.

people make sushi a big deal because you would make a big deal if you went out and bought a 10 dollar sandwich you made yourself with quality cured and aged cold cuts, cheeses, and pickled things.
