How do you guys find new recipes? I always cook the same things. I'd be fine with that but my gf wants more "variety". I swear to god I'm at the end of my tether here.

>If you want more advice, just ask, but your physician/dietician is a fucking LARPer operating on outdated information.
Without knowing more about what the actual problem is, you can't really conclude this.

That said, for the general case of "you need to eat healthier and stop eating so much cholesterol" you're correct.

Doctors are heavily constrained in what they are allowed to advise patients to do, based on prevailing guidelines. If they start recommending anything outside of what "everybody knows" then they open themselves up to malpractice lawsuits if their advice doesn't work out.

Everyone in the U.S. saw this happen in realtime over the last two years with "OMG Trump said something nice about hydroxychloroquine we must ban it and mock him!!!" and then the whole "it's horse dewormer!" bullshit for ivermectin, which is one of the most widely prescribed medications for humans in the world, won its inventors a Nobel Prize for it, is extremely safe in proper doses, and which has been shown to have antiviral activity. But the governors of Nevada and Michigan, both Democrats, outright banned the prescription of it and threatened to revoke pharmacists' and physicians' licenses if they tried to prescribe or deliver it to WuFlu patients.

In the case of the cholesterol meme, most of what people eat gets digested, and their own livers are what churn out the stuff in their bloodstreams.

When I developed diabetes five years ago, the endocrinologist I got referred to demanded that I take three drugs, go on insulin, and eat TWELVE servings of carbohydrates to balance out the drugs (because otherwise they could put me into a coma). I said, "but carbohydrates are what drive up blood sugar" and went full-blown keto diet. Seven months later my blood glucose levels were normal both fasting and post-meal, and my cholesterol had dropped 50 points. Two years later I went in for something else and the physician typed "no sign of diabetes" in my records.
