Obesity has a pretty strong correlation with when corn was added to everything and the increased portion sizes as a result. If you cook all your meals at home it is pretty damn hard to gain weight unless you try, and I say this as an American fat fuck who was obese for years. Obesity will always be a problem as long as corn byproducts is forced into everything we are sold that we do not cook ourselves and people do not have the time, energy, or generational knowledge to cook for themselves. The addiction to the additives is the genius part of it all, unfortunately.

It's a complicated issue with many facets, but there's a reason sugar's recommended daily value doesn't appear on the nutrition label and pizza was classified as a vegetable so it could be served to children. Food lobbyists are some of the scariest, richest motherfuckers out there and the corn, sugar, pizza, and meat lobbyists are hard to challenge.

Everyone's addicted to what they're selling, too, so no politician is going to make that challenge lest they be smeared into oblivion for muh freedoms on taking away muh twinkies, muh pizza, muh oreos!! It's ingenious and disgusting. Lack of education breeds dumber and dumber people.
