Scotch is an acquired taste from my experience. I personally love bourbon, and Woodford Reserve is probably the best that's readily available. Other than that I'd go for Blanton's, Weller's or Pappy van Winkle. I also like Wild Turkey, it tastes the same as Bulleit but about 1/3 cheaper usually.

Honestly anything from Buffalo Trace Distillery is top tier in my opinion.
