A Fibrox is a perfect knife for home use for the person who wants a not garbage knife but also isn't looking to invest hundred of dollars or open it up into more of a general hobby.

I like carbon steel mostly for easy of sharpening and edge taking, and I've found that it's really not difficult to care for. Oiling is unnecessary if you live somewhere with central air. I just wipe my carbon knives with a damp/dry cloth if I'm going to be walking away from it for more than a few minutes during use and then wash and dry it before it goes back up on the rack.

I recently gave away my Yoshikane (also out of production, pictured leftmost) and I'm feeling a bit torn up about it since it was my first knife and also an expensive piece to give away, but I hadn't used it in close to at least a year since getting the Gesshin Ginga and it went to somebody who would appreciate it much more than I was.
