the chaos comes in our awareness that it is all meaningless. unlike most animals we're vividly aware of our own mortality pretty much constantly. Animals are aware of death as they witness and they fear it but I don't think any other animal obsesses over death to the extent humans do, and while that's probably one of the main reasons why we figured shit out and took over the planet, it also means we can't get the idea of "well yeah but why?" out of our heads. I think we're the chaos, these stupid sapient minds.

Nature only seems orderly because we happen to live in the 'best case scenario' part of the universe/time in the universe. Planet earth is a mircale but there's no meaning or afterlife just blind luck. I still think that's beautiful and I love religion and their mythos but yeah thats my take

day off so naturally I'm day drinking.

I managed to hold off until 1.30. Last week I started at noon and I didn't quite make it to nighttime. The week before that I started at 10 and fucked myself up.

I keep telling myself I'm going to quit but it hasn't stuck yet. Tomorrow is my last night shift for a couple months so I'm hoping I can use early mornings as an excuse to not get wasted every night

I was charged with impaired driving (DUI in Canada) years ago. I rarely drive but I had my parents' truck for the week. Decided to drive while drunk because I'm an idiot, got pulled over and was given a breathalyzer. I didn't blow 'over' but I was in the "intermediate" range. I only have my N license (between learner's and full) so this was not okay at all. They impounded the truck for a couple days, lost my license for three months and got charged a few grand but that was it. I was told by the cop that I was pulled over a few days before WAY stricter laws went into place, so I probably would have been fucked if it had happened a few days later.

I felt/feel like a total piece of shit for driving drunk. It was my first time doing it and I got caught, which I think is a good thing. If I'd gotten away with it it might have become a habit. Never done it since, never intend to do it again.
