in elementary school sometimes we would have french toast which was an entire miniature loaf, and two sausage links. there were little packets of syrup to dip it in too.

i moved to alabama in high school. every now and then they would have fried catfish, fried okra, some other sides to choose from, and cans of gatorade.

they would also have fried chicken nuggets sometimes. until my senior year you would be allowed to pile as many as you wanted on your tray. that's when they started cracking down on how many you were allotted. the nuggets weren't soggy or chewy either. they were pretty damn tasty and crispy.

those were always my favorite lunches. on other days i just had pb&j, chips, and a fruit cup.
