Minimum wage where I live is $24 CAD/hr.
A beer is typically $12 CAD.

Yet new restaurants open up all the time, people still eat out for the experience, and businesses are encouraged to become more efficient in their processes to reduce labor costs.
So in the long run it's better for society.
Also there is no tipping culture here, since people are paid reasonably.
