If I handed you an apple and asked you to tell me how many calories were in it, you would find it an impossible task.

You could weigh the apple on a scale to determine it's weight. That's an objective measurement.

You could measure the length of an apple with a measuring tape.

You cannot use a calorimeter to tell you how many calories that apple I handed you has.

That's because calories are a made-up fantastical creation. They don't exist. The apple I handed you was the fruit of knowledge and now you see that calories aren't real.
