Chili is an ancient Mesoamerican BEAN stew that consists of BEANS, tomatoes, chili peppers and _might_ contain meat if it was available. If it's got no beans, it ain't chili.

Wrong. Chili is a ancient Mesoamerican stew that always contains tomatoes, chili peppers and BEANS but may or may not contain some kinda meat.

Chili without beans is simply not chili.

>chili is not meant to have beans

Chili is fundamentally a Mesoamerican bean stew that includes tomatoes and chili peppers, with meat being the optional ingredient. Chili with no beans is NOT chili.

>Beans in chili? Yes or no?

Chili is an ancient Mesoamerican stew that consists of tomatoes, chili peppers and BEANS, meat is in fact optional and if your chili doesn’t contain BEANS, it’s not chili.

> if beans were standard in chili it wouldn’t say chili with beans

Nonsense, chili was originally a Mesoamerican _bean stew_ that may or may not have had meat, depending on the wealth and social status of the ancient Indians making it but beans are the foundation of the dish.
