This is true, and even though I am over in Ameritard, even I knew about the original UK Easter bunny.
Like all original mythos and fairy tales which originally portrayed archetypal tropes, and esoteric wisdom to those who knew the symbols, they have been dumbed down and nerfed up to not disturb the sensitive nature of today's coddled children.
