Then man changed a few letters but his name still sounds the same. He went on to help feed millions of children from the American working class with palatable and nutritious food. In doing so his name is recognized world wide with zero negative connotation beyond snarky assholes calling out poor people on the internet. What the fuck have you done?

>i don't like vegetables!
why do grown adults spout this bullshit with pride? what is that? is it just an american thing?

any time a friend says they won't try something i've made because it's got a small amount of veggie in it they don't like, i want to slap the shit out of them. mostly i've started omiting the fact that it's in there when i serve them, to see if they even notice what they supposedly hate (usually they don't)

I can't believe that of all the people who replied to you, nobody mentioned that the things you listed (thickness of patties, bacon, thousand island, etc.) have NOTHING TO DO with the freshness of the product.

Now I'm going to defend the burger.

In&Out line cooks tend to know what they're doing + the place has a very tight system... you're gonna get a thin patty, yes, but it's going to have a slight pinkness to it, i.e., it won't be dry and overcooked.

Also, In&Out has a huge leg-up on the rest of your mainstream burger drive-thrus: they have fresh buns and they toast them properly.

They have fine lettuce and tomato, and the grilled onions are a treat if that's your thing.

On the fact that they only have American cheese: know-it-all redditors who tell you "it's not cheese" aside, it's a classic milk product on a burger. It boosts the savory, meaty notes of the patty's brown crust without overpowering them.

The real knock against In&Out is their fries. While it's great to see them go fresh cut, they just cut them too thin and fry them too long or at too low of a temperature. The crispy ones you get from them are more akin to a vegetable straw while the soggy ones are just feel bad while eating them tier.

Now having said all that, people are wrong who think that In&Out Burger is some titan or culinary god. The cult following thing is a normalfag meme. While it is markedly better than most mainstream burger joints, your favorite local place is always going to be better, either by virtue of a burger with a thicker patty, more variety, or easiest of all, better fries.
