1. "Seasoning" is just an applied coating, like teflon or paint. Moreover, it is a weak and unprotective coating, and has poor nonstick properties when compared to other applied coatings.
2. Cast iron really only has two valid purposes. One is for decently searing meat in a kitchen, and the other is cowboy LARPing over a campfire. Yes, LARPing as a cowboy over a campfire is valid. It's fun.
3. All modern cast iron is shit compared to an 80+ year old one you can get for $30 at a garage sale or antique store.
4. You only need two cast-iron things at a maximum- a 10" skillet and MAYBE a dutch oven. Any more than that and you are just a hipster faggot.
5. Lodge is mediocre, at best, but still approximately as good as any modern-make cast iron. No, a higher price doesn't get you more. It's fucking. cast. iron.
