From Central Illinois, the horseshoe sandwich. It’s an open faced sandwich made with Texas toast and topped with meat, French fries, and cheese sauce (and sometimes tomato and green onion). The meat is usually a hamburger, but you can put anything on it really. I like bbq horseshoes with pulled pork.
