Basically he got scammed, sad story. Steve was approached online by another MREInfo user about starting this MRE/ration museum. The guy had a fake posting history, construction plans, photos of the building, a Kickstarter, everything seemed legit. Steve start shipping over some of his most valuable MREs.

But it was all a con by Niko Avocado, who had found Steve's channel and devised a plan to get all that calorie-dense food for free. He immediately consumed all of the rations Steve sent, apparently over $50,000 worth. The money is one thing but think about all the history lost too. Those 1lb tins of Vietnam-era cheesy potatoes are nearly impossible to find on eBay, but now it's just another Ukrainian fat roll.
