From a long time ago. I pretty much do something different everytime I make a burger beef+bread doesn't clash with much so the combinations are limitless. If you get fresh ground beef coarse you can even get it fairly rare like a steak in there, allowing for even more pairings.

There's no such thing.

With all the meats, vegetables, grains, and spices there are in the world there is no reason to not make a burger to simply suit your mood.

It really depends on the buns I've got, if I'm using sauce, and how well-done or what type of meat I'm using though. This was a ground sirloin with provolone and asparagus.

Because then I would ruin the taste and texture of my medium and medium-rare burgers?

Because the bits on the exterior of the patty have a tendency to burn and become unpleasant faster than the beef.

Because I want the taste to change slowly as I bite into something and chew, not taste like I put a cheeseburger in a blender.

As I have no picture of tonight's dinner, have last nights. The days all blur together anyways.
