old t-shirts cut up into squares make good wraps--but home improvement stores sell painters rags which work just as well.
(they are for fixing the leaves like parsley or clover to the egg before dyeing--get 'em wet first.)

Traditionally, the folds in the Chefs hat represent each way the chef has mastered a method of cooking eggs.
A Master Chef's hat should have 88 folds in it.
Those were from a different time--when hats were used to denote rank in ANY profession.
These days, it's just a style thing--and to keep your hair out of the food.
