Wisconsin isn't known for cured ham, retard. In the South, however, you can find it in every grocery store, many restaurants (from diners to fine dining), and gas stations (where a slice of fried country ham on a biscuit is an incredibly popular quick breakfast for the working class). You can also find it in many rural areas outside of the South, although it's definitely most popular there.

ITT: things that aren't available in your area that you always get when you travel

I have a real soft spot for gas station country ham biscuits. You can't even get country ham in most places around here, let alone country ham on a delicious homemade biscuit, and especially not in a gas station. Whenever I visit North Carolina, I always make sure to grab a final one on the morning of the drive back.

biscuits with country ham

It's something about the way the ham's fat softens up in a warm fluffy biscuit.
