What are your favorite vegan alternatives to animal products? Bonus if they're better than the "real thing".

I'll start:
Pretty much anything vegan made by Trader Joe's to make this list short, except for their refrigerated chickenless chicken (the frozen stuff is great) and their vegan cheeze is nasty, (but their vegan cream cheeze is great).

Tofurky hickory smoked deli slices.

Vromage gourmet nut cheeses (better than any dairy cheese I've had).

Follow Your Heart Vegan Mozzarella (their cheddar last time I tried it was nasty though). Amazing on pizza and lasagna. Not ever ever meant to be eaten cold though.

Blue Diamond almond milk.

That dark chocolate almond milk IDK if it's Silk or Blue Diamond but it's the greatest thing in the world pretty much.

Westsoy peppermint stick chocolate soy milk is somehow even better.

Gardein chick'n. I have a meat eating acquaintance who has a freezer stocked with Gardein because he likes it better than meat.

Peanut butter and banana in place of egg in chocolate chip cookies.

Go Max Go candy bars (especially Twilight).

Just Mayo vegan mayonnaise.

Earth Balance vegan butter.

Nutritional yeast I feel is an acquired taste and I agree it is highly overrated taste-wise IMO. It has an earthy taste that is alright but yeah I would only use it myself, never use it in a meal I'm making for anyone else.

Have you not tried Follow Your Heart vegan mozzarella? It's awesome on pizza and lasagna and in home made hot pockets.
