I guess kids these days have never heard of realpolitik. They unironically believe that the USA is an economic, military, and diplomatic heavyweight the likes of which the earth has never seen before, because people everywhere genuinely like Americans and want to please us instinctively everywhere we go

Meanwhile we "help" third world countries because we're "nice" and have literally nothing better to do
