The discussion was about the use of rice in beers, and more specifically, the use of rice in pale lagers.

I was responding to this context, and said what you see in that post - that rice wasn't introduced to Germany, the country where the modern ale, and absolutely lagers, came into being.

Nowhere in that first post did I say anything about where the first beer ever came into being.
