>mfw sort of, but not really, speak welsh and that actually looks like it could be welsh

My favourite Welsh phrase is bwrddsmyddio which means "ironing board" but more literally means "board (bwrdd) for smooth(smydd)ing(io)." It's pronounced boorth-smuth-ee-oh where the THs imply a hard TH as in English 'the' rather than a soft one as in 'three.' The OO is pronounced as in English 'food.'

Welsh also separates iron as in the metal (haearn, pronounced "hey-urn," so it's cognate with the English word) from iron as in the tool to smooth clothes (smyddio).

An American friend of mine liked Super Furry Animals a bunch and told me he likes "the album with all the made-up gibberish." He wasn't trying to make fun of Welsh: he legitimately didn't know the silly sounds they were making were an actual language.
What do you expect from a language whose native name for itself is 'cum rag?"
