Low carb diet, only drink spirits with diet mixers.

I lost two stone (28 pounds) doing this a couple of years ago.

Breakfast - a couple of boiled eggs and a couple of good quality hotdog sausages, or three or four boiled eggs depending what you like/whats in the fridge

Lunch - 300g - 400g lean ham/chicken with half a cucumber and some bell pepper

Evening meal - one or two pork or lamb chops, or a steak or a chicken breast grilled on the George Foreman. Serve with broccoli, courgette, bell peppers or salad.

To drink - whiskey, rum, gin or vodka, (minimum 37.5% abv) neat or with a diet mixer.

If you stick to a high protein, low carb diet, you will find you often get home and aren't hungry in the evening. By all means skip your evening meal and just have an extra gin and slimline tonic instead.

THIS IS CRUCIAL. this is not a diet you can "cheat" on. You need to get good at looking at packaging and checking the grams of carbs per 100g of food. Google will help you for unpackaged food like veggies etc.

DO NOT EAT ANY FOOD THAT EXCEEDS *5g of Carbs per 100g of food* EVER.

If you're not sure. Do not eat it.
If it's processed meat (burgers, sausages, chicken bites, meatballs, meatloaf, whatever) and you haven't seen the ingredients and carbs, Do not eat it. (often processed products have rusk and other fillers added to make the meat go further that pushes the carbs up above 10g per 100g)
If it's just a bite of someone else's hash brown. Do not eat it.
If a McMuffin would help your hangover. Do. Not Eat. It.

Google LCHF (or low carb, high fat) for recipe ideas, or Atkins Induction Phase. But stick to the rules above. No alcohol apart from spirits (you may read that some wine is ok. It isn't) Nothing to eat with carbs above 5g per 100g. And as much as possible, stick to lean meat, grilled with salad or the veggies listed above.

Last but not least, buy a decent daily multivitamin that will meet all your vitamin and mineral needs including iron.
