i guess the difference is ours are big ones. we stuff them with whole olives, potato chunks, chicken/hen/turkey with some sauce, garbanzo beans, and hard boiled egg. we also have some that have chicken with sauce and the sweet prune. others have chicken, green + red peppers, and sauce. and the well of people here eat the a slightly smaller tamale with chicken, sauce, and capers topped off with a melted cheese that's like mozzarella, curtido, and a mild spicy red salsa that's got all the veggies fried and then mashed by hand and they pop in some sesame seeds pureed. it's a great sauce. these tamales are the best. not many salvadorans know about this type outside of the major cities.
