Depends on what you consider healthy. Lots of people have their own idea of what's healthy. A lot of people also seem to use the terms "healthy diet" and "weight control" interchangeably, like they're the same thing. It's possible to get fat from a healthy diet (though if it is truly "healthy", it'll be very difficult to maintain an unhealthy weight and you'll have to work at it to stay fat), and it's possible to stay thin on an unhealthy diet.

Based on the publications I've purchased from schools like Harvard and my own personal experiences, I've come to the conclusion that the "healthiest" diet is one that involves minimally processed foods. I'm not going down the GMO or organic rabbit hole. Just stay away from processed or refined shit as much as possible, lay off the red meat a little, and get more veggies and that should do it.

One thing that helped me at the grocery store: If it comes in a box or has a nutrition facts label, it probably has been processed in some way and probably doesn't belong on your plate.

For the record: fruit juice is just a baby step away from being as bad as soda.

Why are all "diets" oriented around losing weight?

I have no problem with my weight (in fact my bmi reads underweight) and the vast majority of my nutrients come from milk, bread, and meats. What do you do to incorporate healthier food into your diet?

One time I decided to be super strict in cutting out ALL *added* sugar and sweetener from my diet. I lost weight ridiculously fast at about 1/2 pound per day. Coincidentally, this meant very few refined carbs (noodle, chips, etc) were in my diet because a lot of them have added sugar. It also made intermittent fasting effortless. Because my bloodsugar wasn't all over the place anymore, it meant I didn't feel hunger as intensely and have even accidentally skipped meals. There were a few times I went an entire day without eating anything simply because I didn't feel hungry.

Just to be clear, because this trips up a lot of people... It was *ADDED* sugar I avoided. I ate as much fruit as I wanted and has nothing to do with diabetes.
