I think my olive oil might be counterfeit. It doesn't thicken at all in the fridge and it smells off when sauting. Is there a foolproof way to tell if the olive oil is fake? The brand is Don Matteo, if that helps at all.

Have you ever done anything stupid in the kitchen?

I just quite possibly had worst experience in my life.
>caught a cold few weeks ago, just now recovering, still have runny nose
>so I sniff up from time to time
>making chili for the first time
>cutting red chili pepper, don't even know which kind, just got the small ones at the store
>guess there was a small piece of chili on my back hand
>lifted up my hand and literally sniffed it up
>thought I was going to die. It's like some one poured hot led trough my nose and felt like I had huge fever
>couldn't stop coughing
but if doesn't end there
>ran to the bathroom to try to rinse my nose
>filled my palms with water and tried to get water trough my nose
>but I didn't clean my hands before that.... so there was more pepper on it
>got some in my eye
>i just had to jump in shower fully clothed
>and sit there for like 20-30 minutes and cry
