I kinda get the whole seasoned cast iron thing but don't pay much attention to it. The reason I love my cast iron is because it holds heat so well. Even when you plop cold meat onto it, if its hit enough, it'll keep searing. Maybe I'm retarded but I feel like thats a very underappreciated aspect of a thick cast iron pan
