Damn shame Castle on Rideau closed a few years ago, you could debate who had the best shawarma in town but their spicy garlic sauce was undeniably the GOAT. Pic related
I'm in the west end so there aren't really any joints in your area that I can recommend, but I've heard good things about New King Shawarma Plus at Bank/Nepean which is close-ish. Elsewhere, Ottawa Shawarma on Greenbank has been my go-to for a while. Mango's at Alta Vista/Bank is hit or miss but the samosas are god-tier and cheap.

I used to regularly take the bus from Algonquin just get a sandwich and spicy garlic potatoes. Not sure why they closed; they were always packed, perfect location (steps from all the bars in the market) and the staff were cool. I did notice their quality starting to drop off in the months leading up though.
