A lot of these people are from flyover states where fine dining consists a steak and potato menu and a variation of creme brulee at the nearest casino. Most decent sized cities you can find plenty fine dining establishments that serve 5-6 course menus for well under $100. It's not a matter of cost as the same people will spend a couple hundred a week on the same shitty fast food every day. It's mostly just uneducated rednecks afraid of the unfamiliar. The cure? Complete segregation from flyovers.
