The correct way is on a crusty roll split 90% horizontally (so the 2 halves are still connected, vinaigrette on both halves, then cheese to cover, then meat and tomatoes piled on the bottom, then turned on its side and filled with shredded lettuce, salted, peppered and with more vinaigrette. wa la.

Jersey Mike's isn't bad as chains go, but I feel bad if you don't have a local joint that blows them out of the water.
