here are a couple somewhat recent studies from a cursory google scholar search. Basically
>highly specific types of antibiotics might work and deserve further study
note the complications include basically the things that I mentioned before.
Also, much of the knowledge I'm going off is from a 2017 lancet journal on gastroenterology that focused entirely on bowel disease, so if you can find that, I highly recommend reading it. I've been too busy until this year to really try to read up on the topic again.

not trying to fearmonger, just pointing out that you can't just chug amoxicillin and expect your gut to suddenly reset. This isn't a juice cleanse, it's a hugely complex ecosystem living in your body and you need to try to be as specific as possible when it comes to such a significant portion of your health.

Having literally studied immunology, barring some type of complete bone marrow transplant, you're not getting rid of most allergies. There some which just resolve themselves over time, for basically unknown reasons, but your memory B cells make every attempt to ensure that you're not going to lose your allergy

Immune systems are nearly black magic, and it's why we don't have cures for crohn's, ulcerative colitis, rheumatism, lupus, etc. We basically just beat it down with anti-immune steroids and monoclonal antibody drugs like humira until you're vulnerable to getting a yeast infection in your eye. All this misinfo in this thread is total bullshit. Visit an allergist if you want to try some type of therapy, but it's not likely you're going to truly fix it.

getting into med school in the US is extremely competitive and if you want to do it straight out of university, you're required to be extremely competent straight at the age of 18. It's incredible how much they demand out of people, and how much debt they leave med school in. (between $400k and $600k last time I checked)

And yes, Americans are also more openly emotional than euros. Whether they're assholes about it varies on the individual. At the very least you know who's a dick or not.

I still think in the majority of the US, the question would still be valid. Those tank tops are pretty skimpy. That said, it wouldn't be as strange to a child these days I'm sure.
