/out/ here. If I'm camping near home (huffing out into the woods for a lark) I'll bring half-frozen garlic shremp and marinated chicken.

If I'm hiking all day and using a UL gas stove it's Knorr noodles or freeze-dried Mountain House sorta stuff, plus always lug a can of Chef Boyardee as a failsafe.

If I'm camping out in the mountains in the back of my truck I never bring fresh food but can easily cook up soup, SPAM, etc.

I fucking love camping and the golden rule when camping is never skimp out on your sleeping stuff and never skimp out on your food. If you eat well and sleep cozy, no matter what else may go wrong you'll still have a good trip.
