always keep a master so when the one you use daily degrades you'll always have a good one to make copies from.

8" chefs knife, paring knife, serrated knife. i would just get em all from a restaurant supply place if you don't know what you want and don't want to spend much. you could get the victorinox chefs knife that everyone talks about if you want something slightly nicer. i've used it; it's pretty nice, especially for the price. if you find yourself getting really into cooking and knives and stuff, you can upgrade later. get a honing steel and a cheap knife sharpener for your cheap chefs knife. autists will screech about how pull through sharpeners wreck your blades. they're not wrong, but it just doesn't matter for a cheapass food service knife. you could get a cheap dual sided sharpening stone and mess around with it if you really cared. sharpen infrequently, hone frequently. keep your knife sharp and it will serve you well and be enjoyable to use, even if it's really cheap.

I'm from Michigan but my dad had a short marriage in Louisiana immediate post-high school and he brought back the knowledge of gumbo with him and it's definitely my all time favorite food despite having never been south of Virginia. It's the epitome of "greater than the sum of its parts." I'd pay 100 dollars for a pot of it right now. I could eat it every meal every day for the rest of my life and I'd die happily.

I've been on a Western kick lately but haven't got back to the John Wayne stuff yet.

Mexican restaurants and BBQ places will serve beans of all kinds. Place down the street from me sells pretty decent baked beans. Overpriced for the past few years though.

Fried egg on some baked beans or franks and beans is good.
You can put beans in shakshuka.
Full English breakfast has both eggs and beans.

I'd give advice for more filling sweets but I'm not a big dessert guy. Or is it more of a mental thing? I get that.

It's not uncommon for people who are fasting or just simply do not have food to obsess over food. It makes sense. You can't have the double decker cheeseburger with curly fries and an ultra-big gulp filled with orange fanta so you may as well just look at pictures of it.
>>17046826
You could probably train yourself to a point where you tolerate day long fasting normally. You would just need to introduce a good amount of food afterwards.

A sticky allows for more sensible moderation and allows the board to self-moderate as well. Without that it is generally a free for all. Most boards should have one. I've been bringing this up on /ck/ for a while now to no avail. It'd take an afternoon to make at most.

Decent meal over all. If you get sick from eating beans you might have a stomach problem.

Most of them are too impersonal for me. I used to know a few people who would eat things for me back in the day but sadly those times are gone. Now if I want to watch someone pretty eat food I go on dates. I do feel bad though, most of them believe I want to spend time after the meal and I usually don't.
